Microsoft Innovation Center to be established as part of BIEL

The city will be home to software giant Microsoft's first innovation centre (MIC) in the country. The idea is to promote innovation and joint projects involving industry, students and faculty, among others. To be located as part of a new institute, which was announced by the College of Engineering Pune here on Thursday, the MIC's focus will be on areas integral to the growth of software economies.

I received following note from Dr. Narendra Dahotre (1980 Metallurgy):
Just recently my proposal on laser machining of ceramics has been awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) the funding for the period August 15, 2008-July 31, 2011.
The funding also included GRA support for 2 Ph.D. students. Currently, I do not have anybody in my mind for these slots. I am wondering if you will help me put this notice on websites that are widely browsed by COEP students.
