Vinay Kakde,

President, Silicon Valley Chapter

Vinay serves as the President of SVC and oversees the execution of various projects undertaken by the chapter, in addition to defining roadmap and strategy for the chapter. He started COEP Foundation's Project WebGuru and was the Event Coordinator for the panel discussion held by the SVC in September 2007. Also, he is actively involved in WebSetu project as a Mentor Co-ordinator.

 

Vinay graduated from COEP in 2001, where he did BE in Computer Engineering. After finishing MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, he worked at Amazon's A9.com for 2.5 years and worked on the design and development of core Amazon search technologies. Currently, he works as a Research Engineer at Yahoo! and is focused on making technical innovations to deliver next generation of businesses to the company. Aditya Kothadiya

Vice President, Silicon Valley Chapter

Aditya is SVC’s Vice President where he is responsible to work closely with the President in creating and executing the vision of SVC. In this role, he also works with all project coordinators to track the progress and achieve defined milestones of all project activities. In addition, he is Marketing and Publicity Co-ordinator for WebGuru project, and a Mentor Co-ordinator for WebSetu Project.

 

He is passionate about Reading, Writing, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Philanthropic activities. He writes a blog called Adeologue (www.adeologue.com) on how to change the world of students, recent graduates and would be young entrepreneurs. Aditya completed his BE in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from COEP in year 2002. He then pursued his MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California in year 2005 with focus in Computer Architecture and Digital Design. Avanti Ketkar,

Project Coordinator, WebGuru Project

 

Avanti played a vital role in initiating the WebGuru project and currently leads the execution efforts of the same in the capacity of Project Co-ordinator of WebGuru Project. Along with this, she also handles Marketing and Publicity Coordinator responsibilities for all SVC activities.

 

Avanti pursued her B.E. in Computer Engineering from COEP in 2002. She then completed her MS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University with research in ‘Quantum Error Correcting Codes’. She currently works as a Software Engineer at Ingenio Inc. located in San Francisco. Before moving to the bay area, she worked for Microsoft Corporation for two years in the Visual Studio Team Foundation group in Redmond, WA. Tejal Goyani,

Overseas Coordinator, Silicon Valley Chapter

 

Tejal is an Overseas Coordinator of SVC chapter and handles the vital role of communicating with Student Alumni Co-ordination Cell (SACC) team in COEP. Her timely coordination makes the grass-root level work to see the effect.

 

She is also actively volunteering for the ‘Women’s Professional Development Network’ (WPDN). Prior to that, she has volunteered for ‘Women in Engineering’ program and held the position of Treasurer of Leo Club -Poona South (Lions International) for 2 years. Tejal holds a Bachelors degree (EE, 2002) from COEP and Masters degree from Purdue University (EE, 2004). She is currently working with Applied Materials as a Senior Process Engineer. Paritosh Ambekar,

Treasurer, Silicon Valley Chapter

 

Paritosh is a treasurer of SVC and maintains accounting of all projects and events. It is his attention to minute details and diligence on tracking all expenses makes our budgeting easy. He is also Recording Coordinator for all WebGuru seminars.

 

He is from COEP Mechanical batch of 2000. During bachelors, he was an active member of the Boat Club and served as the General Secretary of Boat Club in year 99-2000. He completed his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University in the field of micro-tribology (friction and lubrication) in 2002 and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2006. He specialized in precision engineering, controls and cryogenics. He is currently working with Novare Surgical Inc. as Senior R&D Engineer.
