Prof. Thomas Kailath is a 1956 graduate from COEP. He has a close association with India and COEP. The hundred thousand dollar matching grant he announced last year successfully raised more than $100,000 in response.
Prof. Kailath is a colossus in the world of mathematics, engineering and industry. He is a recipient of the IEEE Medal of Honor, inducted into the Silicon Valley Hall of Fame and has been awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. Prof. Kailath was recently elected to the Royal Society of London as a Foreign Member.
To express our pride and gratitude, the COEP Charitable Foundation will honor Prof. Kailath and formally induct him as the first member of the COEP Alumni Hall of Fame. The event is on the evening of June 6th 2009.
